Romanchakam Crosses ₹6 Crore Mark by Day 5

The Telugu romantic comedy Romanchakam, starring Sumanth Prabhas and Ananthika Sanilkumar, has crossed the ₹6 crore mark in India gross collections by its fifth day of release, posting a steady hold despite the expected Monday drop.

On Day 5 (Monday, September 7), the film collected around ₹22–40 lakh in India-tracked gross from approximately 369 to 629 shows across 170 to 172 cities. Occupancy on the day stood between 13.8% and 14.6%, with about 17,771 tickets sold.

This takes the film’s cumulative India gross to roughly ₹6.09–6.27 crore and India net to about ₹5.38 crore, with total tickets sold nearing the 4-lakh mark since its premiere. The movie opened on September 3 with previews and Day 1 combined collections of around ₹1.64–1.8 crore from over 1,200 shows.

Day 2 saw a slight dip to about ₹1.37–1.5 crore, while the weekend provided a boost: Saturday (Day 3) added roughly ₹1.44 crore from 1,036 shows at 26.7% occupancy, and Sunday (Day 4) contributed around ₹45.91 lakh from 476 shows at 19.5% occupancy.

By the end of Day 4, the India gross had already crossed the ₹5 crore threshold. Despite being a small-to-mid-budget romantic comedy without a major star cast, Romanchakam has managed to hold screens into its second week, playing on 418 shows on Day 5 in some reports.

The film’s ability to pull over 17,000 tickets on a weekday Monday suggests a decent core audience, especially among youth and family viewers who have responded well to its friendship and comedy elements.

Trade watchers see the Day 5 numbers as a healthy sign for the film’s theatrical longevity, even as discussions around its OTT release begin.

If it maintains similar weekday averages, Romanchakam is on track to comfortably cross the ₹7–8 crore India gross mark before its run tapers off.
