Yash’s much-awaited gangster action thriller Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has kicked off its theatrical run on a strong note.
Early morning figures from the first shows of Day 1 (Wednesday, 26 August 2026) show the film already crossing the ₹27 crore gross mark in India. The movie, which began screening from as early as 6 am in several centres, has seen solid turnout especially in Karnataka and other key markets.
With morning shows also reporting healthy numbers, the early gross has comfortably gone past ₹27 crore, reflecting the heavy advance booking and first-day curiosity around Yash’s return after KGF Chapter 2.
Kannada version is leading the charge in the home market with strong occupancy, while the Hindi and Telugu versions are also contributing meaningfully. Premium formats and multiplexes in major cities have reported good footfalls right from the opening slots.
Trade observers note that the film is still in the early hours of its first day, and final Day 1 numbers will depend on how the afternoon and evening shows perform. Given the scale of release and the advance momentum, the overall opening day is expected to end on a much higher note.
Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash in a dual role along with Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, has been one of the most expensive Indian films of recent times.
